Well, yes, I also went to see Inter (I know that in English it is normally referred to as Inter Milan, but I cannot name Milan rivals besides my team), playing Lazio at Olympic Stadium. I was very undecided after the latest shameful performances of my team, but finally I decided to take advantage of one of the few opportunities a year I have to see it. It needs be a not too far away place and I don't have to be afraid of cheering for my team.I would never watch a game if I could not cheer freely. I therefore avoid Rome, red and Yellow side, Naples and Florence (I was there once, but I was a little scared). It remains Rome, white and blue side and provincial stadiums, where there are more fans of Inter than of the home team: this year there was Empoli, in the past I was in Perugia and in Siena. I also avoided the guest sector, not only because I never found the time to get the fan's card, but also because I'm usually more afraid of my ultras than of the opponent's "normal" fans.
I went, as usual, with an friend, Lazio fan. We park over 1km away because they closed the car parks of the stadium. Before entering, we meet fans of both sides celebrating their partnership singing insults to each other's rivals and fascist hymns. The stadium looked weird: half quite full enough, half almost empty. The North Curve is almost full, the Tevere tribune (where I am) with many free places, but eventually it gets quite full. On the other hand, the South Curve completely empty, the guest area and the Monte Mario tribune almost so.
Inter gets trailing at 17 ', after running a serious risk at 4'. Many guest fans go away, or at least pretend they do, as in the previous match with Sassuolo, and I also wonder if it was a good idea to come. The North Curve shows a tribute to Totti and many (starting with almost all my neighbors) do not like it, whistles (sign of disapproval in Italy) are heard. This shows, in case we forgot, that the problem is not just the ultras ... By the way: I join the tribute to a great champion, who has accompanied me in all my 23 seasons of fantasy fooball. Incredibly we manage to score a goal, then another one (actually, they score itit for us ...) and in the second half another one.It ends 3-1: this year I can say that I have been lucky 2 matches atched, 2 wins. At the end, however, I hear season ticket holders say goodbye, till nest season. Then I feel nostalgia of twhen I went to see all the matches of my team. I've been a season ticket holder for 18 years, from 1979 to 1997, and in the last 5 years I was watching a game every now and then.
